At the same time, her recent choice of pencil and ink has a ricochet effect on the linen “drawings” in the sense that Zilovic has temporarily abandoned color and employs only black and white in her latest work. The textile work infuses the draftsmanship and vice versa.
In her latest work, Zilovic thus shifts her focus from the body to landscapes. This frees her œuvre more than ever from the figurative realm and brings it closer to abstraction. The artist allows her intuition to flow freely. It is by thus combining the power of past experience with renewed assurance and spontaneity that Brankica Zilovic Chauvain deepens and expands her artistic vocabulary.
